Small steps

Small Steps. Big Achievements

Daily Blog one/365

Inspired by @Jon Westenberg achievement of writing 100 blog posts in 100 days. I have decided to take it up a notch. 365 Blog posts in 365 days. I have not read all Jon’s 100 blogs, but whatever I have I noticed that his posts are not long, but insightful. The learnings he shared in his 100th blog are refreshing. Read the Blog here. I noted all the 5 points and looking forward to sharing my experience.

So… How Am I Aiming to Achieve this?

First thing, of course, has consistency. On a normal weekday, I will be able to manage to write one blog without much difficulty. But on the weekends it can get difficult. So to overcome that I will need to be disciplined to my commitment. No matter what day of the week, month or year it is I will be making sure that I write something every day.

Vacations. Shit, I am planning a vacation soon, and that’s the time all hell breaks loose. I’m afraid I might just forget about it. That would be my worst nightmare, waking up in the morning and realizing I didn’t post anything the previous day. I can always write 2 posts in one day to compensate for it, but I do not want to do that. That’s the thing Jon talks about in his learnings, that consistency matters. His views per month increased from 70k to 140k per month. Doubling the number of views in 100 days is I would love to do. Actually, I expect my views to go 100 times as right now it’s nothing.

What Am I Trying to Gain from this?

The answer to this question will be better served with bullet points.

  • Make myself better as a Writer.
  • Living this experience will itself be an achievement.
  • Some sort of deep understanding of myself and the world around me.
  • Gain a higher level of respect for Writing.
  • See me as a better person across the finish line.

Umm… I think that is all that I aim for right now. It is not much, but that is what’s exciting. I would love to surprise myself. Maybe I will start considering writing as a profession. A Full-Time Profession. Or maybe a book.

The journey is way too long. Till now I have only made monthly plans. This will be my first annual plan. Just writing about it makes it a massive task in my head.

Planning and Discipline.

Planning and Discipline.

PLANNING AND DISCIPLINE.

So for a 450 words post where no research is involved, it takes me around 30 mins.

Noted.

See you tomorrow.
